Young players are required to register according to their 2016-17 School Grade. To insure young players (a) have fun, (b) are safe, (c) receive the appropriate developmental attention and (d) maintain their friendship bonds the Monarch Little League Board has developed a guideline taking into consideration maturity and physical ability.
Important Information for Fall Ball 2016:
Fall Ball will be offered for players entering 1st-5th grade for the 2016-2017 school year. This year we are offering a practice/clinic based Fall Ball program for 6th-8th graders due to low demand in past years. If you have a 6th-8th grader interested in Fall Ball, please read below to fully understand the parameters of the program prior to registering.
The Fall Ball season will meet on Sundays ONLY, September 11-October 30. The first two sessions will be practice/clinic based, followed by 6 weeks of a combination of games and clinics.
Registration will close on September 2nd. Teams will be formed and made public by Tuesday, September 6th. The schedule will be available by Wednesday, September 7th. Please note that the first practice for ALL teams will be Sunday, September 11th.
Please note that Fall Ball is designed to be a developmental league. Fall Ball allows players to continue their love for baseball in the Fall by playing with their friends and continuing to develop skills necessary to prepare for Spring baseball. This is NOT a competitive league. We do not keep score and we encourage all players to play a variety of positions. Fall Ball is an opportunity for players to try any and all positions on the field and have fun playing baseball!
1st & 2nd Grade
Machine Pitch Division. This division is for players who are new to baseball, have played only Tball or who played in the Machine Pitch A division in the Spring. The focus on skills in this division will be learning field positions, basic fielding technique and hitting against the pitching machine.
*3rd Graders are encouraged to participate in this division if they are new to baseball, or only have one year of Tball or Machine Pitch experience.
3rd, 4th & 5th Grade
Little League Kid Pitch Division. This Division is for players who have played at least one season of kid pitch, or are interested in making the transition from Machine pitch to kid pitch in the Spring. At least one season of Machine Pitch AA is required to participate in this division. In addition, players must be comfortable in defensive positions and consistently manage fielding pop flys, hard thrown balls, and make accurate throws across the field.
The focus on skills in this division will be taking the next step in field technique, baseball IQ, and hitting against kid pitch.
6th, 7th & 8th Grade
Practice/Clinic Based Skill Development. This Division is for older players who are interested in the opportunity to get some playing/practice time in the sport of baseball this fall.
This program WILL NOT run like the other divisions. Depending on the number of players registered 1-2 "teams" will be formed and will have a designated practice time each Sunday. If the numbers allow, scrimmaging will occur, however there will be NO organized, umpired, official games.
This is an excellent opportunity for any middle school aged player to brush up on skills, continue development, or learn the game of baseball.
